Beth Bennett

Beth Bennett is an award-winning television news reporter and producer with plenty of in-the-trenches experience. She has worked as a freelance producer for FOX News Chicago, CBS "Early Show," "Metromix the TV Show" and the Bunim/Murray NBC reality series "Starting Over.” Additionally, Beth has worked on-air for T.V. stations in Chicago, Milwaukee, Wis., Green Bay, Wis. and Traverse City, Mich., covering major disasters, politics, crime, education and entertainment.
Beth’s experience in front of the camera and behind-the-scenes is a critical element in her ability to expertly craft the perfect story. Whether producing a Web video that sings company culture or conducting a media training session to ease interview tension, she is able to focus on what information matters and how to best share it. Beth revels in providing clients with both high-level message development and nitty-gritty presentation refinement.
Beth is also a senior lecturer at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. She specializes in videography, producing, television news writing and reporting. Beth joined the broadcast faculty at Medill in 2003. Beth was nominated for Chicago/Midwest Emmy in producing in 2010 for her work on the documentary Under the Ice. She has an MSJ from Medill and has an A.B. in English and art history from Kenyon College.
Mike Sternoff
Mike Sternoff is a documentary filmmaker from Chicago. After graduating from the University of Montana in 2003 with a BA in broadcast producing and a minor in media arts, Mike moved to Chicago and began working in the news industry. He produced, shot and edited for Tribune Co.’s 24-hour news station, CLTV. In 2006, Mike moved to NBC/Telemundo where he covered everything from the Chicago Bears to the election of President Obama.
Mike is on the adjunct teaching faculty at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism. He leads graduate and undergraduate classes in video production. Mike’s passion is video storytelling, which led him to direct his first documentary film in 2009, Under the Ice. In 2010, Mike won two Chicago/Midwest Emmys in videography and directing for Under the Ice. The film screened at the Chicago United Film Festival and the St. Louis International Film Festival. Currently Mike is directing two new films, Kindrid and Echoes of Che.
